LendKey Appoints Vaidyanathan Chandrashekhar to its Advisory Board

Company expects strong second-half lender commitments buoyed by product innovations and robust marketplace conditions

New York (August 5, 2021) — LendKey, the fintech company on a mission to make lending simpler, announced today the appointment of Vaidyanathan “Chandy” Chandrashekhar to its Advisory Board. Chandrashekhar most recently served as Senior Partner at Strategy&, the global strategy consulting team at PwC, before retiring last year. He currently serves on the advisory boards of several AI and financial data solutions companies including Income Discovery, Jiffy.ai and Envestnet.

A seasoned strategic advisor, Chandrashekhar brings over three decades of experience honed through leadership positions with top consulting groups like Booz Allen and Boston Consulting Group. He specializes in advising leading global financial institutions on strategy, performance improvement and transformation.

Since inception in 2009, LendKey has welcomed strategic outside counsel in the form of advisors to encourage diverse and creative solutions to various business challenges and opportunities. In this role, Chandrashekhar will lend his extensive experience to executive leadership on company initiatives, product rollouts and key business decisions.

“As we look to the future of LendKey, it’s crucial to surround ourselves with individuals and partners who bring distinct perspectives yet deeply understand our business and the fintech community. Chandy is a trusted advisor who has built his reputation guiding fintech giants and we’re thrilled to welcome him as we continue to expand what’s possible for ‘banking-as-a-service’,” said Vince Passione, CEO and founder of LendKey.

Chandrashekhar will work alongside an esteemed Board of Directors including the recently announced Joe Proto, EVP Senior Advisor at Mastercard. The board also includes Ira Cohen, Operating Partner of Updata Partners, Mark Morrissette, Managing Director of North Atlantic Capital, Danny Schultz, Managing Partner of Gotham Ventures, and Josh Stein, Managing Partner of Threshold Ventures.

“LendKey has long been on the leading edge of ‘banking-as-a-service’ and has demonstrated a deep commitment to innovation and growth for its bank, credit union and marketplace partners. I’m honored to join Vince and the LendKey community as they continue to pioneer next-level capital solutions and take the brand to new heights,” said Chandrashekhar.

Chandrashekhar joins the Advisory Board on the heels of several 2021 highwater marks for LendKey. LendKey launched ALIRO in February, a deal network for financial institutions to manage liquidity and optimize their balance sheets; reported 450% growth in applications for its Home Improvement Loan program; and, remained profitable throughout the pandemic while securing its largest mid-year increase in lender commitments.
